The 400 year old stilt propped water settlement is built on lake Tadane in the village of Nzulezu. The inhabitants of the stilt village are said to have migrated from an ancient city called Walata. Activities such as schooling, worship, baptisms and burials are all carried out on the lake. The lake also reduces hazards such as fires. It is a busy life in the Nzulezu Stilt Settlement however Thursday is the one day when there is no strenuous activity.
