In the village of Sirigu, some miles north of Bolgatanga, Upper East Region of Ghana and close to the border of Burkina Faso one can find beautiful traditional painted mud houses. The animal and geometric designs used to paint the walls, in- and outside of the curving walls of the round shaped flat-topped buildings, are traditional symbolic motifs of the region. The houses are made of mud and are painted with pigmented earth.
The village of Sirigu is known for it's pottery, painted in the same motifs as the houses. Beautiful shaped pots in all sizes to give your house or garden that special warmth of Africa.
