Hidden in the mountains of Busan stands the Buddhist temple of Seokbulsa, the 'Stone Buddha Temple'. The complex consists of some typical Korean temple buildings including the impressive main prayer hall and the extraordinary large carved Buddha and Guardian figures in the 'archway' leading towards the caves. Because of those carvings Seokbulsa should be called 'the temple carved in stone'.
There are many little paths, caves and small rooms to explore. Stroll around to find the room with over a hundred shiny Buddha figures.
The way up is not easy but if you can manage a bit of a hike, this is definitely worth a visit.
